Unraced two-year-old Rustenberg has won at the Cambridge Raceway workouts as the colt prepares for his racing career.
He got up to win the 2200m by a head and a nose from another Kyle Marshall Racing youngster, Sky Rocket.
Rustenberg (Captaintreacherous — Northview Desire) was bought by KMR for $22,000 at the 2021 National Standardbred Yearling Sale in Christchurch in February 2021, and syndicated to a group of owners.
He easily won a workout over 1700m in January 2022, winning by six lengths at his home track.
