The Roan Ranger and Claudys Hero will try to improve on recent placings when they race at Melton’s Friday night meeting.
The Roan Ranger, who has recorded a win and a second placing during August, will contest the opening event with Sophie Jefferies in the driving seat.
The gelding recorded a best winning mile rate of 1:56.8 in his win at Melton on August 2, an indicator of his ability.

Claudys Hero will contest a trot over the mile for two-year-olds, and the colt goes into the $10,000 with two placings from three starts.
He was a close second last time out, at Melton, and will have Chris Lang in the sulky.
