In-form Ata Ranga gets useful draw in final of $25,000 feature at Melton

Promising three-year-old Ata Rangi has drawn inside the hot pot in Friday’s $25,000 final of the Alabar Vicbred Platinum Homegrown Classic at Melton.

The gelding lines up in field of six, with three seconds as his lead-up form since coming back from a spell.

In early betting for the feature, Ata Rangi is the second favourite, showing $5 in the fixed odds market, behind hot favourite Our Rocker who is showing $1.20.

Driver Kyle Marshall starts in the inside lane, beside the favourite, setting up a thrilling race.

The lightly-raced Ata Rangi has a win and four placings from his eight career starts, and has collected A$8,740 in earnings.
