Hot favourite Follow The Eclipse makes it a stable double with easy win

posted in: News

The heavily-supported Follow The Eclipse has won at Cranbourne, to help land a race double for Kyle Marshall Racing at their home track.

After stablemate Midnight Pirate had won the previous event at long odds, Follow The Eclipse lined up an odds-on favourite to take out the Hip Pocket Workwear & Safety Mornington Mobile Pace over a mile.

Driver Chris Alford settled the five-year-old gelding into seventh place, waiting for the right time to swoop around the field.

With half a lap to run, he took Follow The Eclipse around the outside of the field and took charge as the field entered the final straight.

The result gives Follow The Eclipse his sixth career win from 40 starts, and he’s now earned more than $35,000.

On the Australian tote, Wharewhiti paid $1.40 for the win and $1.20 for the place. In New Zealand, Marshall supporters earned $1.30 and $1.00 at the TAB.
