Fire Marshall and Ata Rangi will race at Melton’s afternoon meeting on Friday.
After a three-month spell, Fire Marshall resumes over the mile in a small field in the meeting’s first race.
The race is a hot field with all the starters carrying winning form, as they contest the first heat in the Nutrien Equine Classic Race Series for three-year-old colts and geldings.
Fire Marshall will have his fifth career start, having earned A$7,000 so far from a win and one placing.
Later in the programme, Ata Rangi gets another chance to build on his solid form, having been placed in seven of his last eight starts.
From 13 career starts, Ata Rangi has one win and eight placings, with earnings of A$14,770.
