Another front-running performance has provided Claudys Hero with his fourth career win and his third at Ballarat.
Outsider Sovereign Tiger flew from the gate to take an early lead but Claudys Hero’s driver James Herbertson was content to let the gelding settle a couple of lengths behind.
After 600m, Herbertson urged Claudys Hero forward and he swooped into the lead, controlling the rest of the race.
At the finish post, he was 4.2m ahead of second-placed Old Dominion.
The win takes his record to four wins and two placings from his 13-race career, with earnings of more than A$18,300.
