Claudys Hero gets up for maiden victory with withering finish at Ballarat

posted in: News

Young trotter Claudys Hero has broken through for his first raceday win after a withering run in the straight at Ballarat.

Having his sixth start, Claudys Hero was allowed to drop back from his wide draw by trainer/driver Kyle Marshall.

The two-year-old colt was in sixth position, one off the fence, when the field started to try to catch runaway leader Iberian.

Going the widest of the field, Marshall timed Claudys Hero’s run to perfection, collaring Iberian just short of the line.

On the Australian tote, Claudys Hero paid $1.70 for the win and $1.40 for the place. In New Zealand, Kyle Marshall Racing supporters earned $1.50 and $1.40 at the TAB.

The photo finish confirms Claudys Hero’s victory.
