The in-form Kyle Marshall Racing stable will take of team of four to contest a night of highly competitive feature races at Melton on Saturday night.
Five-year-old New Zealand gelding Bach will be chasing his fifth win in a row at the Melton track when he goes off the front row in the $25,000 Del Re National Italian Cup, the opening event on the programme.
He’s had a two-month break from the racetrack but prepared with a couple of barrier trials at Melton.
Bach has won 12 races in his 34-race career, earning more than $150,000.
Smoken Ace and Son Of Mac will contest $12,000 heats in the Sulky.App Metropolitan Pace feature.
Smoken Ace was the beaten favourite at Melton on May 4, when returning from a six-month spell, and appeared to be suffering from a virus. He gets his chance to atone in race 3.
Son Of Mac was also a beaten favourite at Melton on May 11, but has warmed up for Saturday’s heat with a barrier trial win at Melton on June 3. He has drawn the outside of the front row in race 4.
Copacabana starts from scratch in the trotters’ handicap, getting a start on 10m-20m on most of the field, and looking to build on her last race when she flew home for third at fixed odds of $101.
