Bach and Smoken Ace will back up after last-start placings when they line up at Melton’s Saturday night meeting.
Bach, who has won five races from eight starts this season, starts on the second row in the $24,000 opening event, a free-for-all over 1720m.
The gelding ran third in a $24,000 feature last week, after winning his previous start with a career-best mile rate of 1:51.7.

Smoken Ace will start from lane four over a mile in the last race, a $17,500 feature for three-year-olds.

The colt has won five of his 11 career starts, earning almost A$49,000.
He ran second at his last start, over 2240m at Melton on June 22.
