Bach, Son Of Mac and Hugo Maguire will have plenty of supporters when they line up at Melton’s Saturday night meeting.
Bach, who has won five races from seven starts this season, takes on a capacity field in the $24,000 opening event, a free-for-all over 2240m.
The gelding ran a career-best mile rate of 1:51.7 at his last start.

Son Of Mac returned to winning form at his last start with his eighth career win, and over the 2240m distance at Melton.
He starts on the second row behind the mobile barrier, and is expected to be among the favourites for the $17,500 event.
Hugo Maguire hasn’t raced a Melton since November 2022 but won at Geelong two starts ago, winning by a comfortable margin at short odds.
He’s drawn the inside of the front row at the start as he looks for his eighth career win in the $15,000 mile event.
