Impressive Smoken Ace ready to return after five-month spell

posted in: News

Smoken Ace will make his first appearance as a three-year-old when he returns from a five-month spell to contest a $10,000 event at Melton on Saturday.

The bay colt is likely to start as one of the race favourites when he has his first start since November’s $250,000 2-y-o Breeders’ Crown final.

Smoken Ace has prepared for his return to the track with a couple of barrier trials during April, for a first and a second placing. He’s won five of his eight career starts, earning more than A$45,000 in stakes.

Meanwhile, Copacabana will compete in a $15,000 feature for trotters, and will start from the second lane. It’s the mare’s third start of this campaign.
